Why it matters

Why professional training is essential for Whitehouse dog owners

Behavior modification

Address jumping, pulling, barking, anxiety, and reactivity at the root, not just the symptom.

Safety & control

A dog that listens the first time is a safer dog around traffic, other dogs, and people.

Stronger bond

Clear communication builds trust, so your dog looks to you for direction instead of guessing.

Skills that transfer

We hand the training over to you at pickup, so the obedience keeps working at home.

Family harmony

A calm, well-mannered dog means a calmer home for kids, guests, and other pets alike.

What we offer

Our dog training programs for Whitehouse dogs

Lessons happen where your dog already spends its days; board and train dogs live and train with one of our trainers. Here is how the programs break down.

Obedience lessons

Private lessons with a professional trainer, held at your home, in your neighborhood, or at the park you already walk to. You work alongside the trainer, so the training stays with you.

  • Come, sit, down, place, heel and off
  • Loose-leash walking
  • Four or eight lessons, e-collar and leash included

Board & train

Your dog lives and trains with one of our trainers for one or two weeks, then you get a one-on-one handoff session before they come home.

  • One-week and two-week programs
  • Recall and manners around distractions
  • Handoff session at pickup

Therapy dog preparation

A two-week board and train that builds the calm, reliable obedience a dog needs before future therapy dog work.

Training in Whitehouse

Built for how Whitehouse dogs actually live

Whitehouse is a Smith County town with Lake Tyler just to the east. Dogs here walk Whitehouse City Park and Gardenview Park, spend weekends out by the lake, and play in big backyards across the neighborhoods.

Most of what Whitehouse dog owners want fixed happens close to home: pulling on the leash, barking at the dog next door, bolting out when the door opens. That is why we work on your street and in the parks you already use. For off-leash work on top of that, board and train is the place to start.

Have a packed schedule? Tell us on a free phone call. Lessons fit families who want to do the training themselves. Board and train fits people who would rather start with a dog that has already had the practice, then learn how to keep it going.

Who you will be working with

Zach and Holly Wheeler own Off Leash K9 Training of Tyler and brought it to Tyler, Longview and the surrounding East Texas towns. Holly started working with dogs at a veterinary hospital in Edmond, Oklahoma, at 16, earned her degree at the University of Oklahoma, and has worked with hundreds of dogs and their families as an Off Leash K9 trainer. Zach's training centers on clear communication, consistency, and training that works in everyday life, not just during a lesson.

Trainer Patrick Callahan, who has fostered and trained dogs since 2019, works alongside them.

Frequently asked questions

Do you train in Whitehouse neighborhoods?

Yes. Our trainers come to your home in Whitehouse, so the work happens where the problems show up. We can also meet at a place you already walk, like Whitehouse City Park or Gardenview Park. Start with Basic Obedience or Basic & Advanced Obedience.

My dog pulls and barks on walks. Which program helps?

Basic Obedience is a good first step. It covers loose-leash heel, come, sit, down, place and off, which means stop doing what you are doing. If you want more distance and more commands, Basic & Advanced Obedience adds four advanced lessons.

How much are lessons, and what comes with them?

Four private lessons are $650 and eight are $950. Both include the e-collar and a training leash. Board and train runs $1,850 to $2,850, and all of it is on our plans and pricing page. Payment plans are available. Call us today to learn more about payment options.

Is my puppy old enough?

Your dog needs to be at least six months old for lessons or board and train. We do not run a separate puppy program. Until then, the Online Puppy Training Course on our plans and pricing page is a good place to start, and you can work through it at home.

How does the e-collar work?

We use it at a low level as a way to communicate, like a tap on the shoulder, never as a punishment. You can feel it on your own arm before we use it on your dog. Basic Obedience, Basic & Advanced Obedience, the 1 Week Board & Train and the 2 Week Board & Train all include one.
