Why it matters

Why professional training is essential for Lindale dog owners

Behavior modification

Address jumping, pulling, barking, anxiety, and reactivity at the root, not just the symptom.

Safety & control

A dog that listens the first time is a safer dog around traffic, other dogs, and people.

Stronger bond

Clear communication builds trust, so your dog looks to you for direction instead of guessing.

Skills that transfer

We hand the training over to you at pickup, so the obedience keeps working at home.

Family harmony

A calm, well-mannered dog means a calmer home for kids, guests, and other pets alike.

What we offer

Our dog training programs for Lindale dogs

Lessons happen where your dog already spends its days; board and train dogs live and train with one of our trainers. Here is how the programs break down.

Obedience lessons

Private lessons with a professional trainer, held at your home, in your neighborhood, or at the park you already walk to. You work alongside the trainer, so the training stays with you.

  • Come, sit, down, place, heel and off
  • Loose-leash walking
  • Four or eight lessons, e-collar and leash included

Board & train

Your dog lives and trains with one of our trainers for one or two weeks, then you get a one-on-one handoff session before they come home.

  • One-week and two-week programs
  • Recall and manners around distractions
  • Handoff session at pickup

Therapy dog preparation

A two-week board and train that builds the calm, reliable obedience a dog needs before future therapy dog work.

Training in Lindale

Built for how Lindale dogs actually live

Lindale is a Smith County town north of Tyler, with lakes and open country all around it. Dogs here spend time in Darden Harvest Park, on the sidewalks downtown, and on family land outside town.

Life on open land can teach a dog to wander, and life in town can teach a dog to pull. Either way, the fix starts with coming when called and walking politely on a leash. We work wherever your dog needs it most. When running free is the goal, board and train is where that gets built.

A free phone call is the easiest way to sort it out. Tell us whether your dog lives on land or in the neighborhood, and what you want to change. We will walk you through the programs that make sense and the ones that do not.

Who you will be working with

Zach and Holly Wheeler own Off Leash K9 Training of Tyler and brought it to Tyler, Longview and the surrounding East Texas towns. Holly started working with dogs at a veterinary hospital in Edmond, Oklahoma, at 16, earned her degree at the University of Oklahoma, and has worked with hundreds of dogs and their families as an Off Leash K9 trainer. Zach's training centers on clear communication, consistency, and training that works in everyday life, not just during a lesson.

Trainer Patrick Callahan, who has fostered and trained dogs since 2019, works alongside them.

Frequently asked questions

Do you cover Lindale and the area north of Tyler?

Yes. Lindale and Winona are both on our list, and our trainers travel to you. If you live near them and are not sure whether we reach you, call and ask.

My dog has room to roam. Can you teach a solid recall?

Yes, that is a big part of what we do. The 1 Week Board & Train centers on coming when called, off leash, with distractions around. It also covers place, sit, and manners at doors and meals. Lessons work too, if you would rather do the training yourself with a trainer beside you.

Should I pick one week or two weeks of board and train?

The 1 Week Board & Train is $1,850 and focuses on recall, place and sit. You get a 1.5-hour session at pickup. The 2 Week Board & Train is $2,850 and adds heel, down, off, more distance work, daily photo updates and a before-and-after video. You get a 2-3 hour session at pickup. Payment plans are available. Call us today to learn more about payment options.

What about younger dogs and puppies?

Lessons and board and train start at six months old. We do not run a separate puppy program, but the Online Puppy Training Course on our plans and pricing page gives you video lessons and worksheets to use at home in the meantime.

What should I know about the e-collar?

It is a collar with a small unit you control with a remote. We use it at a low level, like a tap on the shoulder, and never as a punishment. We put it on your arm first so you can feel it. Basic Obedience, Basic & Advanced Obedience, the 1 Week Board & Train and the 2 Week Board & Train all include one.
